The current Brant Point Lighthouse was built on the island of Nantucket in 1901 to help ships navigate around Brant Point into Nantucket’s Harbor. It stands 26 feet tall and is covered in white wood shingles. The original lighthouse was built in 1746, and was rebuilt 8 times after that. It has been re-built more than any other lighthouse in the Nation. It was automated in 1965 and still in operation today.
